Caricatures at a Chinese wedding.
I was contacted to do caricatures for the wedding of Inés and Ben, westernized names of a Chinese couple living on the Costa Blanca. The idea was to make a wedding with an aesthetic similar to the Spanish ones, although inevitably the pace and number of guests would be lower than what we are used to.

The place chosen was the Alma Restaurant, in La Mata, Torrevieja. Located on the shores of the beach, the establishment offers sea views and a hall that makes the wedding an exclusive and intimate celebration at the same time.

I drew the caricatures during the cocktail party, approximately two hours that gave me enough time to draw everyone, about 70 guests.

A variety of eyes and noses! I was able to verify that the myth that they all look alike is false. Did you know that the Chinese think the same way about Westerners? I recently heard about this on Jabiertzo’s channel. Check it out if you want to know more about it!

Unfortunately I couldn’t stay to see how the celebration continued, but when I left there was nothing missing; plenty of food and it looked very good. A great family atmosphere. The feeling of having been well received and that people have enjoyed the work done is very pleasant. I think it is a detail that they will remember from their unusual wedding in Spain and for me, an unbeatable experience.
